Awww

Catching up on Bones S5 before the new season starts. Those writers know how to crank out a Christmas episode that will bring tears to the eyes of even this cynical atheist. And yay! I was right to think that was Emily's sister Zooey. I'm usually really terrible at recognizing faces when hairstyles change etc, but the resemblance is striking in this ep.

Anyway, this was such a contrast from the Tritter arc Christmas ep that I'll be rewatching soon - the one in which Wilson finds House lying semi-conscious in his own vomit after mixing Oxy with his booze and then just turns around and walks out. We're a long way from laughter and lingering glances over Chinese take-out, baby.

Yeah wasn't that House one a great Christmas episode :) Somehow I don't think the writers really understood what christmas episodes were supposed to be about :) Nearly topped by the one where the 16 year old dies after and none of the 4 grandparents or the baby's father want anything to do with the baby she just gave birth to....Heartwarming stuff !

Seriously, they're almost all pretty grim, aren't they? Although Rachel ended up being a big ol' Christmas gift for Cuddy, so... yay?

Yeah, I think we were supposed to go - oh look, a christmas miracle! But dead teenage girl sort of ruined it for me (:

I worry when shows get toooo angsty. I'm thinking of Law and Order: Criminal Intent, when Goren was initially odd, but handsome, witty and of course, brilliant. Then the format changed, the emphasis on personal life grew to the extent that the storylines suffered, and Goren just became more miserable, more disinterested in how he looked and just duller...

Maybe it's just as well that there was no Christmas House last season (at least, I don't remember one)..although the thoughts of House kissing Cuddy under the mistletoe make me hope that there won't be one either this year.

I do think that the writers have been making House more and more miserable over the years. There's a big jump after Stacy returns at the end of the 1st season, and it just seems to get worse every season. The last few eps of S6 almost killed me.

I don't remember a Christmas ep since Kutner died. There was a big gap between "Wilson" and "The Down Low," so I guess there was no need. Maybe House and Wilson will finally end up under the mistletoe together this year. I can dream, can't I?
