Wait - WHAT?!

Did you see the Bones finale?

Normally I watch it online the next day, but last weekend was kind of crazy. So I had no idea that they had decided to deal with Deschanel's pregnancy by making Bones pregnant with Booth's baby until just a few minutes ago. (And not a second too soon, as that dress she wore when undercover as Wanda revealed all too clearly.)

What are we supposed to think about this? Yes, she crawled into bed with him for comfort after Vincent Nigel-Murray (my favorite of the squinterns, sniff) was shot. I don't find it difficult to believe that things progressed offscreen from there. But in the meantime? Was it a one night stand? Has it changed their whole relationship - are they a couple now? I'm not saying that I needed to see them getting it on - certainly got enough of that at the beginning of this season of House - but I can't help feeling cheated that after all the back and forth on both their parts in the past couple of years, we didn't get to see ANYTHING - post-coital awkwardness, overt affection, you name it. If Max hadn't been around to comment on their unusual behavior, I never would have noticed it. Come to think of it, I still didn't notice it, except maybe for Brennan acting extra excited about the prospect of going undercover as Booth's girlfriend. (Of course, in retrospect, all of her comments about not having a kid like that bowling alley brat with him make much more sense.)

Anyway, what's the deal? Did they only realize very late in the game that they would need to work around their lead's pregnancy? And holy crap, if the show hadn't been renewed and that had been the series finale, I would feel totally robbed right now.

*raises hand* I saw it. Didn't know if I should comment, because I'm rather meh about the whole thing. The show used to be my favorite because of the David Boreanaz eye candy. The chemistry between Bones and Booth used to be pretty decent in earlier seasons.

Then last year, after tptb's contrived reason for keeping Temperance and Booth apart, I kind of lost interest. I realize shows have trouble dealing with the Moonlight curse, but not bringing a couple together after a natural progression also stretches my credibility.

Upshot, I didn't really care one way or the other about Temperance's announcement. Well, it did seem a bit abrupt, but given this was season six, I'm glad the relationship is moving forward. Whatever.

Hart Hanson said this was his way of getting Booth and Brennan together, but in a different way. Maybe it is, but after dealing with Angela and Hodgins' pregnancy nearly all season (which I enjoyed), I don't feel the need for a repeat.

Have to comment on the undercover setup. Were they refugees from an eighties movie? The hair and clothes made me cringe. Emily's baby bump was very obvious. I blinked a few times and decided that maybe she was supposed to be playing a pregnant girlfriend.

There are a lot of pretty people on this show. David, definitely. I'm also partial to T.J. Thyne and Michaela Conlin.

Meh is a perfectly valid reaction!

There certainly is that. Although I suspect that this will be quite a different kind of pregnancy.

LOLOL. They were truly ridiculous. I don't know how we were supposed to believe that they were going to fit in. But I didn't mind because I was ROTFLMAO.

--Want to second that, plus raise you a Tamara Taylor. Love her new haircut.

Plus T.J. Thyne is always fascinating to watch, even when he's talks insects.

Because the cast is likable, I'll be back next season. :-)

Insects are a turn-on for me, so I find him all the more fascinating then, LOL.
